World Cup group stage fixtures at Education City Stadium
One of the most significant stadiums in Qatar that will host the World Cup is Education City Stadium. The stadium can accommodate 40,000 people. The new stadium is situated close to a number of top colleges in Education City, the Qatar International Center for Excellence.

One of the eight stadiums hosting the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Engineer Ali Al-Dosari, Director of Education City Stadium, remarked that the stadium's design exhibits a perfect synthesis between traditional Islamic architecture and breathtaking modernism.
After the World Cup competitions were canceled, Al-Dosari noted that the stadium will serve as a gathering place for visitors to Education City.
He explained that the stadium's exterior facade was modeled after the geometric intersections of Islamic architecture. This preserves the stadium's structure and allows air to enter, allowing a movement of rotation that helps keep the stadium's interior cool.
The director of Education City Stadium continued on the website of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, saying that "the triangles of the exterior facade simulate geometric patterns similar to diamonds, and their colors change according to the movement of sunlight, and the facade is lit at night with distinctive colors, making the stadium a unique jewel in the middle of the desert."

The stadium is about 500 meters from the Education City Station on the Green Line of the Doha Metro, which is conveniently placed 13 kilometers from the city's center.
